Three Events in One State!

PortLavaca-300x240Texas is in the lead for the U.S. state with the most Women Of Aviation Week events!

Addison Airport is also ready to get in on the Women Of Aviation Week action, four airport businesses are coordinating to create an inspirational event for future aviatrices!

The individuals at US Sport Aircraft realize the importance of increasing the female pilot population and are looking forward to adding a female flight instructor to their team in the near future.  Perhaps, one of their future instructors will be a participant at their Women Of Aviation Week event in March! They will offer door prizes for discovery flights and host a variety of special guests!

Lone Star Flyers will provide free introductory flights for girls and women who have not flown in small aircraft before. Experienced flight instructors will be on hand to answer questions and guide participants on the road to their own pilot’s license.

Last but not least, Big Q Aviation will have a glider on hand to answer questions about gliding and sailplanes and the Aviation Training and Resource Center (ARTC) will be providing free sessions in their Red Bird Simulator.

In Port Lavaca and Victoria, Texas two events fittingly titled, “Girl Power!” will be at both Calhoun Air Center locations. The event is hosted by the award winning Air Race Classic Team, XXtreme Aviatrixx, and the 2011 “Most Dedicated Female Pilot Worldwide” and “Most Creative Aviation Advocate Worldwide” award winners. All participants will walk away feeling like they had won a trophy themselves because qualified girls and women will receive a free flight in an airplane or helicopter March 9th through 10th.

March 4th-10th is shaping up to be an exciting one in Texas! Too bad there isn’t a ‘Most Female Pilot Friendly State’ award this year!
